Contest Winners Have Time of Their Life at Bristol Race

The Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway proved to be a drama-filled night for many NASCAR drivers, including Ryan Newman. For two guys from Pennsylvania, however, it proved to be the race of a lifetime.

Earlier this year, State Water Heaters and one of their distributors Peirce-Phelps Inc. held a “Bristol Night at the Races” contest to reward one of their loyal customers. As it turned out, long-standing customer SECCO, Inc. was the Bristol event winner. A member of the SECCO Home Services team Dustin Steele and his guest, Eric Horn, were treated to a one-of-a-kind experience at the Bristol race Saturday night.

As part of the reward package, the two men had the chance to ride around the speedway at 120mph in a NASCAR racecar as part of the Richard Petty Driving experience, and even got to meet “King Richard” on Friday in the NASCAR garage. They also toured the No. 39 Chevrolet team’s semi-hauler while they prepared for the race, watched 50 laps of the action from the top of the #39 Stewart-Haas Racing pit box and enjoyed the remainder of the race from a luxury suite. Perhaps most impressively though, they were treated to a meet-and-greet with Ryan Newman himself, after which they were given the opportunity to wish him luck mere minutes before the start of the race.

“This opportunity really shows how much State Water Heaters and Pierce-Phelps value their customers,” said Barry Kindt, owner of SECCO Home Services. “I’m so pleased a team member of mine could be rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime experience just for doing his job.”

Here at State, we have immense appreciation for both our distributors and our contractors. We’re happy to have been able to share our passion for motorsports with a deserving customer.
