      • The State ProLine® Specialty Lowboy Top-Connect 38-gallon electric water heater is the reliable choice when you want to maximize hot water output and energy savings. The ENG-40-DOLBS incorporates a 38-gallon (nominal) tank and dual 4,500-watt elements to deliver a first hour rating of 47 gallons at a highly efficient 0.93 Uniform Energy Factor rating.

      Environmentally-friendly insulation, factory-installed heat trap nipples and a supplied insulation blanket reduce heat loss to optimize energy savings.

      This ProLine® water heater utilizes State's superior commercial-grade tank protection. Advanced tank features include a stainless steel CoreGard™ anode rod, Blue Diamond® glass lining and DynaClean™ automatic sediment-cleaning—designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater. The ENG-40-DOLBS includes a 6-year limited tank warranty.

Turnkey Plumbing did a fantastic job setting it and leveling it and plumbing it. I put in a 2 pole disconnect switch for it and moved it to a new, more convenient location in the crawl space. Turnkey also plumbed in a water softener to the a sediment filter as well. So this unit may set new world records for longevity. But, time will tell. The old water heater was 10 years old and was leaking water at the bottom seam.

It is a short fat 40 gallon . there was no choice for that in the listed models so I picked the closest one.

I needed a small unit to fit into a relatively small space for a water heater. There was no way without major expense to move it to the garage. This one was installed by my plumber and fit the bill. I've only used it for a few weeks so I really don't have any comments on longevity or performance over time. so far it appears to be a decent water heater for the price.

It didn’t hold enough hot water for me to wash my 3’ long hair and my body. I’m very disappointed. I can say, I went from having a State (residential) 80 gallon down to a 50 because the residential was no long offered. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. I have no idea how I’m going to deal with this. Maybe in the next year or so, I’ll just buy another one that is tankless.

For the past two weeks, it has failed to produce enough hot water to take two short showers in a row. Not sure what will come of it since this new one replaced the last State Water Heater which was under warranty until August of 2018. Two failed Water Heaters ? Does not say much at all for Quality !
