Rated 5 out of 5 by from Original Worked great for 10 years! My. builder installed the same unit in 2012 and it has worked flawlessly. It probably would have worked longer if I had changed out the anode. Weeks ago the tank developed a small leak and I replaced it with this current model. I was slightly disappointed that neither the control box nor the temperature/pressure relief valve were installed pointing exactly "down" so I had to rework the drain pipe to fit. Other than that it was easy, fired right up, and heated the water completely in under 45 minutes. Ordering on-line was easy, and pickup at a nearby Ferguson warehouse was a breeze. It was the best price I found for a 50 gallon water heater too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solid performer This is our second State water heater. Our first one lasted 15 years which is well beyond normal life expectancy. I am hoping this one will perform similarly. I definitely like the new gas control system with the flashing LED light which gives an instant system status without having to get down on the floor to see what’s going on with the pilot. This new one seems to heat the water faster and more efficiently than the old one ever did, and the burner is quieter.
