      • The ProLine® GS6-40-BRBS 40-Gallon Atmospheric Vent Short Natural Gas Water Heater is designed to deliver an economical performance that can lower your energy bills and provide long-lasting value.

      Featuring a 40-gallon (nominal) tank and a 40,000 BTU gas burner, the GS6-40-BRBS Atmospheric Vent delivers a first hour rating of 68 gallons and a recovery rate of 41 gallons per hour. It carries a 6-year limited tank warranty and meets Low NOx emission requirements.

      Environmentally-friendly insulation and factory-installed heat trap nipples reduce heat loss for maximum energy savings. This model ships with a supplied insulation blanket.

      This ProLine® water heater is designed with State’s advanced tank features, including a stainless steel CoreGard™ anode rod, Blue Diamond® glass lining and a self-cleaning dip tube—designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater.

The only thing I found lacking was a parts / maintenance instruction list, for replacing parts. I would like to order at some point in the future, an anode replacement sacrificial rod.

We just replaced it yesterday (12/14/23) after 32 years and three months of service! It was STILL working….it had just lost a bit of effectiveness so we decided that it was time to change water heaters but not brands. Here on day two the new one is working great and I’m confident that it will continue to do so.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from State Select Water Heater (Gas) The water heater - State Select, came with the new single family two-storey home built in 2008. Used it since then for almost 15 years. There were two of them installed - one for the 1st floor and another for 2nd floor. The one for 1st floor, of late, started to leak water from the bottom and so when asked with plumbers, I was told there could have been corrosion and it wasn't worth repairing it. I called up John Klassen co and they delivered a brand new one the next day. It was an easy fix. Though the manufacturer warranty is for 6 years the original one lasted for about 15 years. I hope this new one (gas operated) will last at least 12+ years.

This particular replacement heater is 50 gallons, a 10 gallon increase from the last one. The size of the unit is significantly smaller than the original one and the exterior electrical modules appear much easier to use and monitor. After only a few hours of testing and use today, we are happy with our new unit. The real test will be if this new gas hot water heater lasts for as long as our old unit!
