Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive spec sheet I bought this water heater from a plumbing supply warehouse here in Houston,Tx. The heater is commercial grade and the specs on this unit are impressive. My old water heater was a Mor Flo which was made by the same company. It had a 5 year guarantee and a plastic drain valve and it lasted 26 years. This heater according to the spec sheet is much better and it has a brass drain valve and a 6 year guarantee. If it lasts half as long as the last one I will be happy. I had a licensed plumber do the installation. I have cut the temp setting back twice because it heats so efficiently. The heater was installed 4 days ago so it is early to write a review but I have confidence in this brand. If your reading this remember this is from a plumbing supply warehouse not a big box store. I researched water heaters for about a week before I made this purchase. The only negative comment I can make at this point is the cost of the heater but material costs keep rising.

The plumber that we had contracted to do all the plumbing installed a State hotwater heater. I was joking with him and said is this water heater any good. He told me it was the best of the best. I wouldn't have any problems with it. Well 15 years later we didn't have any problems at all, until i noticed some water in the bottom of the catch pan one morning. i didn't look into it and asked a friend about it later that day. He told me it was your tank is starting to leak due to rust or old age. He asked me what kind of water heater i have and i told him a State water heater "propane" he asked if i did any maintenance on the water heater. I Told him no I didn't know you had to. he was telling me about flushing it and cleaning or replacing the anode rod. i didn't know anything about that. But he also told me that the only reason you didn't have problems sooner was because it was a state water heater. The best of the best and that is what the plumber told me 15 year ago. In closing i will say this. The new water heater i had installed yesterday is State "Propane" unit. With a little bit of simple maintenance your State can last a very very long time. or with no maintenance. you might get 15 years out of it. Thank you State People for the quality of product you put out. America!!!!

We have had to adjust temp. several times. I have noticed it takes longer for the hot water to come through the faucets, compared to my last water heater.
