      • The ProLine® XE Power Vent Liquid Propane Water Heater maximizes efficiency and provides flexible installation options by using an exclusive 3 position rotatable blower outlet. The GS6-40-HRVIT features a 40-gallon (nominal) tank and a 50,000 BTU propane burner to deliver a first-hour rating of 87 gallons and a recovery rate of 55.9 gallons per hour.

      A patented Green Choice® eco-friendly burner design reduces NOx emissions up to 33% and complies with Low NOx emission requirements of 40 ng/J. All models are equipped with a protected sensor that detects the presence of flammable vapors and automatically disables the burner to prevent ignition.

      The GS6-40-HRVIT features State’s advanced tank protection, including a stainless steel CoreGard™ anode rod, Blue Diamond® glass lining, and DynaClean™ automatic sediment-cleaning—designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater, which is backed by a 6-year limited tank and parts warranty.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Failed much earlier than expected We installed this water heater in July of 2017 and it failed in March of 2021. The input water to this tank was pre-heated by a boiler and stored in a SuperStor tank, so it only had to heat water from 105 degrees up to full temperature. We thought this would mean a very long life. Needless to say, we see this as a significant failure.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from My previous water heater lasted 20+ years. I bought this only two days ago after my previous water heater finally gave out. It lasted over 20 years. I cannot comment yet on what I think of this one. I also felt the cost of the tank and installation was pretty high. I cannot rate this product since I've only had it for 2 days.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Review of last water heater Had a State water heater installed 6 years ago. It blew up 2 weeks after the warranty expired. Called customer service twice and have not received a call back. I purchased another State water heater only because that is the brand my plumber uses and could install quickly. It went out on Christmas eve evening and we could get it installed 12/26/23.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only lasted 2.5 years Replaced unit in February 2021 under warranty. This one died July 8, 2023 but cannot be covered under warranty since it was a replacement. This is simply unreasonable. Two of the same units only lasted collectively 7.5 years. Now it will cost me over $2K and I have zero confidence in this brand so I cannot justify taking the chance. I will go with a different brand and hope it lasts longer than this junk! I hope to hear from corporate as I can provide absolute proof of date of professional installation and failure of product.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from GS6-50-YBVIS I bought two of these units in 2017, the 1st one failed in March 2021 after spending $1800 on a plumber to diagnose this unit on 6 occasions they finally gave me an RMA for a new unit with a $200 delivery charge and a $600 install. Two months later the second unit failed and finally got an RMA in August 2023 after spending $1200 on having a plumber work with their tech support to get the unit working. Its an additional $250 delivery charge with and $800 install. I would stay away from this company

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from My 2nd one has failed in less than 4 years I have now had the 2nd one of these fail in the last 4 years. Both sprouted heavy leaks from the top of the tank making a huge mess. Even if this is under warranty I’m not so sure I want to chance a 3rd one failing and flooding my house! I’ve personally never had any other water heaters fail with heavy leaks from the tanks. I own a total of ten homes and the only other water heater issues I’ve had are bad heating elements, leaking safety valves etc. but never tank failures like with this rather expensive unit. At this time I do not trust State water heaters until I read that they have addressed their problems with their tanks. Fortunately there are other quality choices for tank water heaters.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed... manufacturing defect, not age or misuse Bought a condo with this unit (SN 1343A019147) installed. Recently had a major gush of water leaking. When replaced, plumber found that there was no rust leak.. water was seeping from unit structure...and water was even in gas line. Cause: Manufacturing defect... a nipple in the internal structure was seated improperly and caused seeping of water internally, eventual tremendous rust buildup, and external leaking water from various unit seams. Caused lots of water damage my unit and neighbors unit. Of course because it's out of warranty, the company will do nothing...even for a manufacturing defect.
