Quiet Operations

Great expectations
We purchased this to replace a working A.O. Smith that was 20 years old. This was a preemptive move to get ahead of problems with aging equipment. This is an updated version of the unit we replaced with improved insulation, improved combustion air delivery design and improved safety features. It promises to be slightly more energy efficient. As the A.O. Smith lasted well past the general life expectancy for water heaters, as this is nearly a clone with upgrades, as we are elderly, I fully expect that this unit will provide us with good, reliable service beyond our own life span!

Doing a great job since installation
Replaced a State water heater of same size that we had for 22+ years. Great product 1st time around & so far doing a great job, hotter water quicker & should be more efficient. Has not been installed long enough to know impact on bills

Great Product
My review is 4-years past installation for which I did myself. I have had only one minor issue where the heater would not turn on and I'm guessing is pretty common. The Air Safety Switch fails to engage when the vacuum tube become block inside the blower housing. Guessing dust builds up over time but simply removing the tube and blowing air into the brass barb freed it up and was back online in minutes. I am not putting down the heater for this, at least I know it works in the even the exhaust pipe ever became blocked.
Anyway, this heater runs quite and is pretty efficient. I replaced my homes original State water heater which was 16 years old before it failed.

Get's hot
This is the product installed in my new home so far so good it takes awhile to heat up but when it does it's hot. No pros or cons because I'm fresh in this new house.

Dependable & Reliable
This unit is our 2nd 50-gal State commercial-grade HWH. The 1st started leaking, and after 12-years in use. We have a big family, and when we get together for the holidays, there have been more than enough hot water for everyone, and we live in NE where it gets freezing during Thanksgiving/Christmas. One disappointment, though, is the very short warranty of 6-years, vs. 10, which would be more fare. It makes you wonder if STATE trust this product line.

I have just installed this unit to replace an older model State water heater that I installed in my home when it was built 30 years ago. I am expecting this unit to last me at least this long. The serial number of the older unit was G90972483 for your records. This unit never gave me any trouble except for some carbon buildup that caused the pilot flame to be deflected off of the thermal coupling and go out. The tank started leaking about a week before I replaced it but was just dripping enough inside to interfere with the gas jet. So to say the least it has been a very good water heater.

Proven reliability of State Water Heaters
We purchased this water heater because we switched from Natural Gas to Propane and the State Water Heater we purchased to replace the unit installed by the builder was performed well and did not need any service. I wish, when I purchased the water heater I had known it could not be converted to propane.

It works!
This replaced a 14 year old Rheem NG power vent model with a more complicated heat selection system. It is much simpler to monitor and adjust. Installation was fairly simple and because the unit is a little shorter and wider than our previous unit , it fits our small utility area better.

Our old State direct vent heater was 35 ears old!
The model in the registration did not match available numbers. Our new water heater is Model GS-6-50-HBDSL301. Direct Vent. Our new water heater keeps the temperature spot on. Very high quality water heater.

Blower is Quieter than my old water heater.
Just had this installed today. I noticed that the blower is alot quieter than the 15 year old Rheem water heater I had. It appears to be a well made product, but only time will tell. Hopefully it lasts just as long as my old water heater.

Very Nice Product
Seems very efficient. The automatic operation is great. Time will tell but hope the control box and unit will last many years without any issues. Very good quality construction. First time I heard of State Heaters. I happened to check with one of my distributors and it was the only brand they sold. I went with it and realized it was a great choice. Thanks

Hot water first time every time
We replaced our old State water heater with a new version- came online quickly and efficiently. If we hadn’t been more than satisfied with the original, I would replace it with a newer version. The old version was 10 years old and replacement parts would almost be much as a new one. So we opted for the version and am more than pleased
