      • The ProLine® 50-Gallon Ultra-Low NOx Atmospheric Vent Tall Natural Gas Water Heater delivers an efficient, reliable performance with an innovative design that protects against accidental ignition of flammable vapors.

      The GS6-50-BCUT features a 50-gallon (nominal) tank and a 40,000 BTU gas burner to deliver a first-hour rating of 84 gallons and a recovery rate of 42 gallons per hour. This model uses a patented Green Choice® eco-friendly burner and meets Ultra-Low NOx emission requirements.

      This ProLine® water heater features State’s advanced tank protection, including a stainless steel CoreGard™ anode rod, Blue Diamond® glass lining, and DynaClean™ automatic sediment-cleaning—designed to help protect the tank from the corrosive effects of water and extend the life of the water heater, which is backed by a 6-year limited tank and parts warranty.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Lasting No Hassle Reliable My previous water heater was a State Select. That's why I chose it again. Not one repair during its 16 years of great hot water! Though I did go with the 50, rather than 40 gallon it seems I need not have with its more current efficient technology. Though it costs slightly more, it is worth it! I am thrilled knowing I need not worry for near 30 years this time.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vibrating burner bracket Waterheater is very efficient at heating water fast and for a long duration. We called out a service tech to confirm a proper install and advise us on a frequent rumbling sound. The tech took out the burner and removed the burner bracket, re-attached the burner unit to the front and told us this would stop the rumbling/vbrating burner noises. This mostly true although we hear short bursts of noise when the burner comes on full blast.

Found empty hole on top of water heater with no anode rod and went looking for one only to find that you have moved it under the hot water nipple on top. Is that correct? Can the nipple be removed to change rod without damage? This should be in instructions. Thanks

The firebox cover below the gas valve does not reach the intended attachment points. With one side barely inserted the other side will not reach. Please feel free to contact as I would appreciate a replacement part (one that fits)

THE INSTALLERS SHOULD HAVE RELOCATED TO DRAIN PIPES BEHIND THE BUSHES, HOWEVER THEY DID NOT, AND IT IS IN FRONT OF MY FRONT DOOR LOOKING VERY HIDEOUS! I WAS IN THE HOME WHILE THE INSTALLING WAS GOING ON, AND NO ONE DISCUSSED WITH ME THAT HOLES WHOULD BE DRILLED @ MY FRONT DOOR. SAW WHEN THERE IS A LEAK .... IT WILL LEAK ON THE FRONT PORCH! HOW STUPID IS THIS?

Since the previous experience with this brand was positive, we decided to stick with the STATE water heater again. It is hard to judge it only 2 weeks after installation. So far it works fine.

I like how fast it fired up and had hot water in 30 minutes 4 people took showers and water still hot. Setting the temperature was a breeze and was in line with the manual. So far so good

I like the vacation mode feature which allow me to stop heating the water while away. Hope this heater will last as long as the old unit.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's too soon to really rate this product, but... I purchased either this same model or a very similar model just over 6 years ago. I told my plumber that our water is quite "hard" and asked him how long the water heater would last. He essentially laughed at my worries, telling me the product would easily last 15 years or longer! Even before the warranty period was over, the heater started making a lot of knocking noises. The plumber told me not to worry about it, that it was normal. Just barely after the 6 year warranty period, it started leaking all over my basement floor. I needed a new heater as soon as possible. If I'd had time to think, I might have gone with either a different model or even with an electric model -- one where I could clean out the hard water deposits. The electric models that went out in the past did NOT leak all over my floor! The hot water just ran out very quickly. If I do not have a better experience with this purchase, I will never again purchase this type of water heater!
