Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of hot water This is a new water heater that came with a new house in Florida. The owners manual was just found laying next to the heater today so I decided to register the heater even after being 2 years old. It does a great job and my electric bills are not high for the whole house so the heater must be doing a good job. We have plenty of hot water for 2 showers, a laundry room and the rest of the sinks in the house including the dishwasher, all being run at once. It's nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing water heater I have been using this water heater for 2 years. It’s just 2 of us in the house with freaquient company. We have had company of 5 people plus the normal 2. It kept up in the efficient mode no problem. I do have this in the garage and during the winter it makes the garage cool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the feature of the heat pump I moved into my new home January 2021. The heat pump stopped working the last of April. The warranty replacement experience was very fast. 1 phone call and was able to get the replacement delivered the same day

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean unit a bit tall for my cellar I bought this unit 2-months ago and haven’t noticed any change in our electric bill to date—was thinking it woul pay for itself after a few years?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Location of exhaust fan I think that its a bad design to have the exhaust fan directly over the cold water inlet and the hot water outlet causing cold air to be blown on these pipes. The exhaust fan should be located 180 degrees away from where it is now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saving Energy is Important We have had a good experience with our State Heat Pump Water Heater. We installed it to reduce our carbon footprint. We did have to have two service calls to adjust the mixing valve because we we not getting sufficiently hot water and the temperature varied from day to day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New hot water heater I just received my new hot water heater the unit has a fan that runs most of the time. I worry about another moving part that will wear out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Junk I like the fact it is high efficiency, but after a year they break. The warranty covers the replacement of the tank and compressor, but not the labor. Sometimes the labor can cost half to the price of the tank. I would stay away from this proct.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash! Hybrid component sucks New build came with this hybrid water heater. Worked fine for about 3 years and then ECC popped up. Contacted customer service, did some basic troubleshooting steps, and was sent another motherboard. Replaced the motherboard and a few weeks later, ECC code pops up again. Contacted customer service again with same ticket number and they determined that the Hear pump compressor is the fault. Offered to give me a replacement but I had to cover the labor costs. Paid for a company to install replacement water heater and six months later, the ECC code is back again! I guess I just got bad luck with 2 water heaters from this company? Do your own research, especially with this code and you'll see the numerous amount of people reporting the same error and owners left frustrated. I'd recommend staying away from hybrids after dealing with this. Not sure how much you would really save yearly between hybrid and electric.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed After Only 2 Years Water heater threw an ECC code (heat pump compressor malfunction) after only 2 years of use. Very disappointing. State honored the 6 year warranty and offered to replace the entire unit (good) but I have to pay for all labor to replace it (bad) - bill will be $1000 or more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only 3 years! Unit started giving the ECC code after only three years. I have to pay out of pocket and send the unit back to State because it is out of the installer's warranty period.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst water heater I have ever bought I bought this water heater after a failure. The plumbing and heating company came out and offered a good, better, best option for our house. This water heater being the middle (better) option. It is now 2 years and 2 months old and we are getting a compressor failure error code. This is after having the installer come out and check it 2 times because of lack of hot water. We were told it is normal and we should just use less hot water, or leave it in electric mode. Brilliant. This water heater represents the largest case of buyers remorse I have ever had. I spoke to a sales rep independently of this and he said I should have never bought this water heater. Should have spoken to him before the purchase. Shame on me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Performance We built a brand new house. Installed was an 80 gallon hybrid hot water heater. There is only about 35 gallons of usable hot water available. As hot water is removed from the tank, cold water is introduced to fill the tank. As a result, the cold water lowers the total hot water tank temperature which creates 80 gallons of cooled water. The tank then takes 8 hours to recover to a usable condition. This tank is great if you only have one person that takes one 10 minute shower a day. This tank does not meet the normal needs of a family of 4. To sum it up, not enough hot water and it takes way too long for the tank to recover to a usable condition.
